Press Release (9 January 2009)

The JISC PoWR (Preservation of Web Resources) project was funded by the JISC to organise a series of workshops and publish a handbook on best practices for the preservation of institutional Web resources.

The project, which ran from April – September 2008, was run jointly by UKOLN and ULCC. A 100-page handbook on The Preservation of Web Resources was one of the main deliverables. It is available from the JISC PoWR blog (see https://jiscpowr.jiscinvolve.org/) which also provides access to a variety of other related resources . The handbook can also be download from the JISC Web site at the address http://www.jisc.ac.uk/media/documents/programmes/preservation/powrhandbookv1.pdf  (PDF format).

Although the project has successfully completed, the blog is still operational and provides a forum for discussion of best practices for the preservation of Web resources and related institutional issues.
