The second JISC-PoWR Workshop was run as part of the Institutional Web Management Workshop (22-24th July 2008).
Title: Approaches To Web Resource Preservation
Location: University of Aberdeen
Date: Wednesday 23rd July 2008 from 15:30-17:00
Time: 3.30pm – 5pm
Facilitators: Marieke Guy and Brian Kelly
This workshop discussed the challenges of Web preservation (what should we actually preserve?; what about IPR? and how do we address the technical challenges?) and looked at practical approaches your institution can take to preserve its Web resources. The session reviewed some of the approach to the preservation of static content which were addressed at the first of the JISC PoWR workshops and went on to explore some of the additional challenges being posed by Web 2.0.
Resources are now available from the Institutional Web Management Workshop Web site.
